SPK - 2016 XMAS MIX

I'd like to thank all the readers for supporting Soundproof Kennel the last 3 years! (I can't believe we've made it this far!) We might not post a huge amount of content but I do think the music we share is quality. Australian music is at a good place right now. We have so many emerging artists that are putting the Aussies on the world map! So without further adieu, here is SPK's 2016 XMAS MIX. These 12 songs (In no particular order) are some of my favourite to be released this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! X Jack

SPOD - Boys Night

"Be a bit of a prick, but don't be evil" has got to be one of the truest lines I've ever heard. Well in context when you are talking about a bunch of Aussie men going out on a 'Boys Night'. SPOD's delivering this summers new funky anthem.

Ivey - Last Week

It's never a good idea to fall in love with your best friend. You can forget about going out on the town, image seeing them pash some slob on the dance floor. Yuk. You'd feel sick and want to cancel your camper van holiday down the coast coz you know that things will be too hard to handle with your bestie. Lucky you can feel better by listening to the crafty indie-pop number 'Last Week' from Gold Coast's Ivey. Pheeeeewwww. Holiday back on.

Hollow Everdaze - Still Ticking

Every time I hear a violin being played I get transported to another place. I don't know what it is but it's definitely a form of musical therapy. Victorian band Hollow Everdaze just released their debut single, 'Still Ticking'. It's melodic and perfectly captures that sun-soaked sixties sound. The boys also released a brand new video this week to accompany the track. Have a look see here

Sun Sap - Hanging Hearts

Following on from their debut single 'Mexico' and slow burner 'Tallows',  Sydney/South Coast six-piece Sun Sap have just unleashed their latest single 'Hanging Hearts'. The single was recorded at their drummers Shaun Gaida South Coast farm ‘Alhambra’ and mixed by Timothy R Dunn (Kirin J Callanan, Frowning Clouds, Straight Arrows) at Hanging Tree Studios. Reluctant to reveal all, singer Adam McTraggart explains 'Hanging Hearts' “is a bit of a look at lovers, at life and the ups and downs that comes with it.
