Her name is Alex the Astronaut. She's originally from Sydney but is now living abroad in NYC on a soccer scholarship, studying maths and physics. Her latest single 'Already Home' had me hooked from the first listen. Alex's genuine songwriting takes you inside her world and makes you believe every word. Her songs are all stories written from personal experience. Naïve-yet-worldly, her music is going to win a lot of fans around the world.

Ciao Bella! I'll be honest here, I'm a real big fan of 'The Fear' by Leo Rose. I don't think he's Italian but his new EP is called Basil and I love a good margarita! Anyway, 'Lost' and 'Love?' are decent tracks but maybe a little too electronic for my liking. The vocals that Leo hits on 'The Fear' are something else. Plus the piano melody is killer. I'm also hearing some hints of my other favourite Sydney musician Jack Colwell. Bellissimo.

Melbourne band CHANGELINGS play guitar-driven dream pop. After listening to their new single 'There's A Place' I couldn't help feel nostalgic. Like falling into some tranquil slumber, you nod and dream and let the music whisk you to another place. 'There's A Place' is the first single off the upcoming debut album 'Poppyfields’ (expected to be released towards the end of this year).

Who said punk is dead? DEN are the new Sydney outfit making big waves. Firstly, do yourself a favour and see them live. There is an energy that I haven't seen between said band and audience for a long long time! It's like being in some post-punk apocalyptic trance pit. Amazing. Secondly, go buy their Self-titled EP out next Friday November 11th. It's got some killer tracks on it like 'Inertia' (the third single). And for your viewing pleasure, check out their new clip here.
EP Launch Dates:
Thurs Nov 17 - The Grace Darling, Melbourne, VIC
Thurs Nov 24 - Woolly Mammoth, Brisbane, QLD
Sat Dec 10 - Black Wire, Sydney, NSW
