Jack Grace - Hills

Climbing steep hills really sucks. For one thing, you got a backpack full of discount fruit and veg from China Town (weighing a million kilos) and It's 40 degrees! You're sweating like a summer pig and you know when you get to the top of the hill, you have to make a detour and drop off a couple mango's and zucchinis at your mates place. Life's a bitch but when you do get home, you relax and listen to Jack Grace's first solo effort ‘Hills’, (from his forthcoming debut EP). It's got great vocals, flowy beats and overall is as unique as the Duku fruit you're lugging around

Snowy Nasdaq & Snowy Life - Same Mistakes

What can I say, I'm a sucker for catchy indie pop and I'm even a bigger sucker for the musical work of Melbourne whiz kid Snowy Nasdaq. Snowy has enlisted the help from members of Cool Sounds and The Finks (Snowy Life) on a new EP'Same Mistakes' is the first single from 'NEWJANGLE2012' and is been released through the trendy (french) bastards at Beko disques. Spend some euro here.

NOIRE - Just Like Honey

Sydney dark pop trio NOIRE have only two singles (Pilgrims Those Days) to their name but are definitely one of my favourite Sydney bands. Their new single 'Just Like Honey' is a hauntingly beautiful song which conjures up feelings of love, memory, longing and heartbreak. While those topics may seem bleak, Jessica Mincher's dreamy vocals add confidence and sweetness to the track. Catch them live when they launch the single in Sydney next month.

Wireheads - Good Grief

I don't know if the guy in the middle of this photo is in the band but i'd like to hope so! Adelaide's Wirehead's have their new record 'Big Issues' coming out on August 7th through Tenth Court. 'Good Grief' is the first taste from these Aussie post-punks.

Maja - Treat Me Right

The soul siren is blaring with the release of 'Treat Me Right' from one of Brisbane's newest talents Maja. Inspired by the sounds of Etta James and Otis Redding, Maja's honest song-writing is genuinely refreshing. You can download this one for free below and look out for her debut self-titled EP later this year.

TEMPEST - Tidal Wave

"Everything moves in cycles, so twice a century the ocean lets us know just how small we really are."  That's one of my favourite line's in the 90's classic movie Point Break. Keanu and Swayze nailed their roles. New TEMPEST single 'Tidal Wave' reminds me of that last scene where Swayze paddles out into the big storm, wanting to catch that last huge wave. There wouldn't be anything more gnarly than to ride the 'once-in-a-lifetime wave' to your death.

Ciggie Witch - Look Of Pain

The Australian winter may not be as brutal as in North America or Europe but nobody likes waking up in the early morning, when it's dark, cold and you know that you have a long day ahead at dreaded (insert shit day job here). It's groundhog day on repeat 5 days a week. Sign, but it's not all bad when   Melbourne band Ciggie Witch drop a tasty new single. ‘Look of Pain’ got me out of bed this morning and hopefully it will bring some sunlight into your day. Free download below and be sure to catch them when they play a bunch of shows this June/July.

The Walking Who - My Future Wife

It's been nearly a year since Sydney wizards The Walking Who released their stellar single 'With Roses'. The band has moved into more experimental territory with their new single 'My Future Wife' (might be all that time they spent in Iceland earlier this year ;). The industrial bits and bobs, distorted vocals and wandering guitar parts are all fused together perfectly. And there's even a Game Of Thrones reference. Ha, what's not to love about 'My Future Wife'?

Kira Puru - All Dulled Out

Dark, soulful and heartbreaking. There is nothing dull about Kira Puru new single 'All Dulled Out'. The Melbourne artist gives us her first taste from her forthcoming EP. You can tell from her writing, Kira has a passion for detail and this single retains its elegant beauty. I can't wait to hear more.
